Just keeping on the theme! Do you have one in particular? Can be any grade or level of schooling. Have you kept in contact? Have you ever told them how much they meant to you?
Mine was Coach Debroux. Not only was he the cross country coach at our HS (still is), but was also a math teacher. I had him for classes before I had him as a coach. His attitude in the classroom was one of the deciding factors in my joining the team. Just a very enthusiastic person, always wanting his students and athletes to strive for the best.
I talk to him usually once or twice a year, more now that I am running again. There's not much I could tell him that I haven't already done, but I let him know everytime I talk with him just how important he is to what I was then and who I am today.

Doug Durr - wood shop for 3 of my 4 years in high school woodshop. Easy 'A', low expectations and loose discipline helped me keep a high GPA and get me where I am today.

Mrs. Robbins... high school art teacher... nice, friendly and a total babe back in those days... it was great being able to get an A on a report card doing something I actually enjoyed doing.

8TH grade History teacher Mr. Bierman. Totally cool fella, and of course I was "teacher's pet". Haven't seen him since.

I have two. Ms. Manning, my 10th grade English and Composition teacher, she discovered I really liked to read (I don't remember how) and she started talking to me after class and loaning me lots of really cool books. And Mr. ???, my 10th grade Biology teacher (whose name is totally escaping me now). He made science fun and interesting and it was then I discovered I could "do Science". He laid the groundwork for 2 more years of high school science (chemistry and physics) and I don't think I would have aced those classes without the confidence and level of interest I got in his class. Now what the hell is his name?????
I've seen my HS Biology teacher a few times, but he was an older guy then and I'm an oldy moldy now, so I don't even know if he is still around.

10th and 12th grade biology. Learned to love science through him He was tough but fair. He taught me a lot about how I wanted to teach. Set high expectations and kids will strive for it. Be reasonable and fair if there is problems but demand excellence.

Hmm.
I'll be the first to say one of my parents. I'd have to say that it is my father. I choose him for my morals, faith, and desire for knowledge.
He tought me basic farming that led to a strong ability for problem solving and critical thinking. He also gave me my third job that eventually led to the desion for my major. Working for him, I started out just pulling network cable. He gave me the ability to work my way up to my present position of Network Engineer/Software Developer.
For the record, my dad is a licensed K-12 teacher. He was in the classroom for a number of years before moving into administration. He is now the Director of Information Services for the school system.

Mr. Waxenfelter
Track Coach, Asst. Football Coach
Most importantly History Teacher
He was a great teacher, taught us in a style we all could not recognize until we got to college. Then we understood, he taught us like a college professor would.
He also let me teach the Civil War senior year, which I loved doing for two weeks.
He reintroduced Pebbs and I when we both went back to work as track coaches with him.
Lastly we are still good friends. He was an usher in Pebbs and my wedding.
