I would definitely think one of the advantages to being a guy would be the ability to run without a shirt. Lucky guys!

You know it's May here (how about where you are?  ) and not all that warm and yesterday I saw this woman running in a teeny, weeny little bra top and shorts that barely covered her fun parts. I smiled and said good morning, she ignored me, and I gave her the muttered 'b*tch' after she passed me by. My point is: I don't have a point. But I will never run without a shirt, no matter how hot I get. You're in public, people!

I always start the run with one. I only take it off to even out my tan a little. I always wear singlets in the summer so the heat really isn't an issue with me.

I run shirtless in the summer almost 95 percent of the time. I know the coolmax singlets are supposed to keep me cooler but I think psychologically I feel cooler without the shirt on and I don't have to feel that wet fabric hitting my body as I slog along.

I agree with you considering that you are living in Florida where I suppose it's hot and humid all year round just like any other tropical country. I was in Singapore (place of birth) 3 years back visiting relatives and touring the place (haven't been back for a years) and the temps stayed in the high 80s to low 90s (sometimes mid 90s) during the day and averaged about high 70s to low 80s at night. The humidity was really high (70-90%) and it feels as though you are in a perpetual wet blanket. You start sweating even after taking a shower. I was staying at my grandparents' place and there was a park by the beach nearby where I did some runs in the morning. I found out that I just simply couldn't wear a shirt when I'm running down there- my shirt got thoroughly soaked through in minutes and it just clinged on to my body and refused to dry b/c of the high humidity (really uncomfortable!). Running shirtless therefore seems to be the best option in hot and high humidity conditions.

I usually run in a long jog bra or singlet type top. Last Thursday I did a brick (run-bike) workout and it was really cold on the bike so for the run I wore pants and a long sleeve shirt. Within 5 min I was so hot and didn't have anything but a jog bra on. My husband said take your shirt off and I said no way I only have a jog bra on. Well I took it off and ran in the jog bra and was so happy to cool off! I will only do that agian if I'm desperate I was way too uncomfortable!

 It gets HOT here with near 100% humidity, but I'm so modest of my abs  I'd rather sweat it out
