Posted: 06/06/06 - 13:19 Post subject: Yesterday....
I took the day off and took JR to King's Island. We had a blast!!! He's a scardy cat, but I managed to drag him on the Beast...... let's just sya I needed to check his underwares when we finished the ride. I've never heard anyone scream like that child did when we got to the top of the hill, and started going over. He saw the drop down into the tunnel and his eyes started to bug out and the scream came. He was shaking when the ride was finished.
He likes other coasters, just smaller ones. I told him that if he went on the Beast for me, I'd do what he wanted the rest of the day..... let's just say he got even with the freaking water rides.
But, he did let me ride Son of Beast, which is a lot taller than the original and is maybe the only wooden coaster (that I've ever heard of) with a loop. I almost died when we got to the top of that hill WOW.
We left at 4:30 and he had a baseball game. He played catcher and did something surprising. Threw out (almost) a player stealing third. He's 8. Most of the kids on his team cannot throw or catch, but my son caught the pitch and threw to third from his knees and beat the player by 3 steps. They have never done that before or practiced it (JR's first time playing catcher yesterday). The third baseman was daydreaming and it beemed him in the chest. Poor kid had a bruise.
Momma was proud yesterday.

I LOVE the beast, its my all time favorite! I moved before they put the son of beast in there. Does the "beastie" still exist?

You have a good son. If I had been your kid and you asked me to ride that ride, I would have put myself up for adoption.
He is one brave boy!!! (I hate coasters)
Wow on the play! That is awesome! It's cool when you see your kid do things all on their own, something that is unique to them.

That about sums it up. Except in my particular fantasy, it's me leaving the car on the track and flying into a bunch of innocent spectators and their cotton candy.

You're just bitter about those minimum height requirements.

/I have railed against that height requirement for years until I realized how scared I am of those coasters--and now I plead I'm too short to go on them.
