It still makes me sad today. It must have been forty years ago when my mate Kevin Reilly's Mum and Dad divorced. His Mum was divorced from reality and his Dad was divorced from reality. They both made new relationships. His Mum had a relationship with the television set and his Dad had a relationship with the bottle. Technically, however Kev was not a child from a broken home, but he was a child with a broken sprit - some would say well brought up for life in the modern world.
There are some marriages that don't break up, they dry up.
They evaporate.
