Dang, RG, it's hurting my teeth to think about that air-pain thing. Hope your surgery is as easy as possible. My recommendation: get the gas, and giggle your way through.

Well folks.....the results are in.
Spent two and a half hours in the chair.
They saved the root, base, and nerve.
They replaced the original filling with composit material, ground away the remainder of the tooth, and took an impression for a crown.
Then they installed a temporary crown that looks like it's made outa stainless steel.
I have to go back in 10 days to get the final white crown, nicely tinted to match my other teeth.
Total cost... $476.00
Next step is to get everything cleaned and X-ray'd
Then determine if there are any other landmines lurking
It turns out it was not my fault... One of the dentists I had gone to had installed a filling so big, there was almost no tooth around it. It should have failed long ago.
I may have to go looking for said dentist..
Now the pain is not quite so bad...till the meds wear off...

Ranger:
Had that happen to me some time ago. The REAL fun stuff is finding out the "har way" you need to get a root canal...
Maybe it was all that activity you did this weekend up in Maine that shook the tooth loose...

Sorry I missed this earlier Ranger, but glad you got things fixed. I'm even happier your pain medication is working. I hope they gave you more!
