NO.
in my case that would be moving to make $20k. I would consider going back to work for that amount-----not moving, though.

I think that one of the biggest things that you have to consider is leaving your current position after only 4 months. Personally if someone did that to me as a manager, I'd be pissed because a lot of time and energy goes into hiring someone.

Thats why I am torn....I like my manager but the job is boring. I ventured into a new market segment of sales that is in the mechanical arena. My background is in electrical engineering. The job being offered suites my talents better.

In the end, you have to look out for yourself. I would say do what is best for you because in the long run if you don't like your job you'll end up leaving anyway.

Since I've been in this area for 21+ years moving would be a problem. If the job opened up in the area there would be lots of thinking.
Other factors: Retire from present job in less that 5 years.
Travel is not an issue.
Back in 1983 I moved to this are from southern CT to double my take home pay. So I am ammeanable to the idea

And the shoveling job would even be more intellectually stimulating!

Followed, hopefully, by a shower.

A long shower...a hot shower. With a brush. Some odor molecules are resistant to plain soap. If it helps, shower with a friend to get those tough-to-reach spots.

Totally depends on the job. If the job sucks, the extra 20k won't make a difference in the long run. |
