Australia got hosed today in the 95th minute on a really questionable call. I was hoping to see them pull a win against Italy.
The match between Portugal and the Netherlands was unbelievable - 20 cards in the match and 3 men sent off. I've never seen a match with that many cards thrown.
Argentina's overtime goal against Mexico was one of the most beautiful shots I've ever seen, and a fitting winner in one of the best matches of the tournament.
I've enjoyed the tournament more this time around, undoubtedly because my sons are enjoying it with me.

Portugal 1-0.
Rooney is terrific, TreKay, I agree. He didn't seem to have much rust after being out for a while with his injury either. Fatigue seems to be the only thing getting him now.
I've heard a lot of static about Beckham being overrated, but I'm hard pressed to think of a player who's better on set pieces/corners than he is.

I almost wish I had cable so I could watch the games on ESPN. As is, I catch about 1 a week on ABC. This past weekend it was England - Ecuador. Maybe next time I'll go to the sports bar down the road.

I have been catching a lot of the games on univision. Even though I cant understand the commentators I love the game and the level of skill involved.

They still won't have soccer on. A baseball game from 1985, yes. But no soccer.

I watched the game again last night, on the replay of the foul you can see that the Aussie player basically put his body in front of the Italian players legs making him fall. I would have made the same call.
it's so hard to tell sometimes with the diving that a lot of these players do. I'm beginnign to think they go to school for diving
in Fact! here's the proof!

I don't feel bad about it though. I had all my money on Trinidad and Tobago.
