The cousin of the woman I work with was sure she was having menopause because she was about 44 and no periods. She goes in for her exam and she's two months pregnant
If nothing else, make sure you take a home pregnancy test to be sure. Even through you're going through menopause, you can still get pregnant assuming your DH has his swimmers.

No I misread what she meant. I thought she meant she's only had two periods in the last three months, not 7 periods in the last three months.

My daughter has a friend that's her age. That friend's parents are old enough to be my parents. They have a daughter my age.

Oops babies happen when a woman's body produces one last big surge of girl hormones before menopause. That's probably what's happening to Deb right now, and it's sped up her cycle, which means she's ovulating every five minutes.
If hubby still has his swimmers tell him to back the truck up!!! You are highly fertile right now.
And see a doctor since being diagnosed by a friend on the internet may lead to armpit swelling, facial hair and chronic diarrhea.

OK, let me just say a couple things since y'all got me nervous now. 2 months ago I had it twice in one month, the next month was normal, this month twice. And DH has no swimmers. OK well he does but they can't get a connecting flight.

have you been to the doc recently?? I had this happen to me last year. right after my annual, I got 2 periods 10 days apart. I was a little uptight, but I heard of people getting preggers right after dr visit, so I just put it off as maybe the second time was a failed pregnancy??? I don't know. It didn't happen again. But four months later I had to go off bcp quickly. (stroke sx).
I think ShannonG's explanation makes sense, but I think she means a big surge before infertility ....not necessarily menopause, but ovaries stop producing eggs in 40s.

Have you been to the dr yet?
You are peri-menopausal. Have your doctor check you for your female hormones the LH FSH and see where they are at. These tests will let you know whether you are hitting menopause or not.
I'm 39, and know other women my age who have these whacked out cycles. I used Seasonale, the bcp (birth control pill) for the last two years, because I then only had one period every 3 months. I just quit them because of weight gain/depression which the Seasonale may/may not have any part of. My cycles are starting to get whacked out again.
