I liked this quote, thought I'd share it with you.
Quote:
I used to feel so alone in the city. All those gazillions of people and then me, on the outside. Because how do you meet a new person? I was very stumped by this for many years. And then I realized, you just say "hi." They may ignore you. Or you may marry them. And that possibility is worth that one word."
-- Augusten Burroughs, author.

Guess I got my $2 worth today.

I love my Starbucks so much I'd marry it.

It's one at a time, though. Once I've used one up and discarded the empty carcass, I'll move on to the next one.

Do you realize this town has only 1 Starbucks and it's inside a grocery store?

We've got one in our research tower...behind security. Not open to the public, just the employees.

And they make money! I know a lot of folks that hit that place 3-4 times a day.

You'd better get the Major to get a transfer to a more Starbuck friendly town

I would call Secretary of The Air Force Wynne on the phone and complain, or at least ask for hazardous duty pay

That is my one complaint--that it makes mom and pops go out of business.

Here there is no competition so I'm grateful for them.

The last place we had Starbucks--the competition was higher priced and couldn't produce a consistent cup of coffee.

Starbucks has admitted that their coffee is hypercaffeinated in order to get repeat business.

Near my office, we had a local coffee shop open, in fact I was their first customer. I have gotten to know the two owners very well, and they are doing great business. They are lucky that the closest Starbucks is about a mile away, and they have a great location.

have you ever read any of Augusten's books? I've read "Running With Scissors" and it had nothing to do with Randy from Riff Raff Neutral
