The big 10 year anniversary for the coach and the mrs coach is approaching rapidly!
Keep this in mind. We don't have much money. We live fine, we aren't poor, and are able to pay our bills. But we don't have alot of spending cash after the bills are paid.
What can a coach get his mrs that would be wonderful and romantic, and won't break the stinking bank?
suggestions are open to the floor.

A nice weekend away?
Mrs. PH and I just had our 10 yr. anniversary last week, but it got sidelined because of my grandmother's funeral. I'm taking her to Callaway Gardens this weekend to celebrate.

a great idea. And as much as I'd like to do this...she was gone last week for a training in Tennessee, and is gone this week as well...she doesn't want to leave the kids again, and I don't blame her either. So that idea is out.

I was going to suggest just one night at a local Bed and Breakfast. A nice dinner out and maybe breakfast in bed.

kids making breakfast is always good.....even if toast is all they can handle. I'm going with the gift certificate for another evening in the future when she IS around the kids more and needs a break.

And you do cleanup afterwards so she can hang out with the kids after they've made her breakfast.

maybe a nice family dinner. dim the lights, light the candles, dress the kids in their nicest clothes (or sunday best if that wont last long) and fix a nice dinner. or order in.
oohhh. see if you can get some friends to come over and cook and serve as if you were at a restaurant!
then, mabye rent a movie for after dinner?

i'm the worst, i have no ideas at all. how about the "night" away but take it later in the year, when she isn't so busy with work travel....i completely understand her not wanting to leave the kids again. you could even book it now, pay later kinda thing...

If she likes jewelry, you can tell her that although you can't afford one for your 10th, you are starting a "ring" fund now, so you can get her one on your 15th.
And put cash in there every week so you can get her a really nice ring in 5.
One, it shows that you are looking forward to being together, and you are planning for the future and planning for something specifically for her future.
You could also get her a book about a place you'd both love to go.

I'd love a new ring someday.... I'd love a new man someday! He can have my old ring to help pay for my new ring! ha! How bout that!

In any case...dinner and a movie is a standby, but it sounds like you're going for something more memorable...do you remember the first place you went on a date? the first meal you cooked for her? something like that if you wanted to go the dinner route...
personal things like massages (giving, not buying), dance classes, a walk or drive through a quiet, scenic area, carriage rides, etc would be a good addition too, and except for the dance classes, they're all cheap or free.
