I work in nationwide real estate. One of our guys manages the contractors that go in and take pictures of all the houses. Last week he called to find out why he only had 3 pictures of a house rather than the normal 10. It turns out two large pythons were in the house and coming out of the vent as he was taking a picture.

I ran over a snake on the way to the house. It's one of several snakes I've seen this year. I agree with WTR and Kimba it is the year of the snake! Normally I might see one, maybe two in the course of the summer.

DH was driving home and came upon an opposum feasting on some roadkill. The possum wasn't going to move, and the DH had to stop in the road because he didn't want to kill it. As he's stopped he sees a baby possum come crawling out from the underbrush on the side of the road to meet Mom. Just then a very large winged bird came swooping down and snatched the baby in its talons. The mom made a weak attempt to fight off the bird and then ran into the underbrush. DH said it was very, very cool.
