Why do runners hate tri-athletes?

I dunno...I do know a number of triathletes who are pretty good runners too..It's an expensive and at times glamorous sport but they should be given some respect for all the hard work they put in. A former Ironman triathlete I know used to put in 3-6 hours of training a day during his peak competitive years on top of family and a work schedule. I don't know how he did it but that sounds just as impressive to me as an elite marathoner who runs 120-160+ miles a week.

All triathletes have OCD. They are compelled to evacuate all the money out of their wallet as fast as it comes in.

I'm afraid to comment. He spends ALOT of money on his sport, but it's his to spend. I didn't want to spend $7 on new socks yesterday Mad

(but when my whole heel was touching my insoles I figured it be time).

Triathletes like ultral runners are more socialable....both groups are trying to lure me to their sides....they both say marathoners are way too intense. I think they are a little psycho.

I don't know any tri-athletes so I don't know of any feud. I do know that the races are expensive and how they find the time to do all the necessary training and have a work life and family life is beyond me.
