I just wanted to bump this up to help abby's cause with an update

A pos and Negative can give
O Pos and Negative can donate for Abby. the missing antibody (neg) is not going to do any harm to someone with (pos) the antibody

Positives however can not give to Negatives.

Wish i was closer, I'm A pos

I have no clue what mine is and the last time I tried to donate locally I got black listed for some disease, that I don't remember the name of.

HIV is a black lister one. You should get that checked out Wink I think there's something you should take.

Same boat here....O+...but I had a bout with Hepatitis A about thirty years ago (Sicilian restaurant) and was told that I could never again donate blood. I imagine it's still in effect - I'm banned from the bloodmobile. If not, and anyone is aware, give a shout.

Phonetically speaking, "EH-ta ZHEE-zen."

I knew as much but I'd hoped that maybe....and I know, not even plasma.

And religious restrictions aside, everyone can stand a little prick at least once a month. That's all it is. Giving blood is so simple, so easily done, and so human.

I am O+ but the last time I tried to donate they said I was anemic. Of course, that was in college. Hyper - should I be able to donate now?

Just let me know what I can do for Abby!

Can you, yes. Thye'll check you again to make sure that it won't do any harm to you and let you know if the anemia is an issue.RTPD can let you know if you can do directed donor unit from the DC area of if they are taking them only in the Posse Zone.

RTPD, is there a national program that ABBY is enrolled in that Directed donors could be directed to?

also a blood drive (sorry this is just occuring to me as i type) I know there are drives that can be arranged that the hospital, facility, will match costs for. So say even an B pos could donate for Abby, she would not actually get that unit of blood but it would be credited towards her medical bill. I'll say one thing in her favor. She has one of the more common blood types.
