I think so. It seems my bp is always high when I'm getting it taken at the doctor's or giving blood. It's not as bad whenever I take it myself other times.

Yup, I do. Everytime I go to the Dr. it's high. Even if I go next door to the funeral home/ambulance service to check it it's high. I monitored it at home for a month or so and it was ok.

Good point.
Does anyone have it?
BP last week...140/80's...
Weekend...150/80...
Today...160/90s...
I'm about to ask for a different set of white coats now. If you think I'm crazy for this thinking, you're wrong. I'm dead serious and don't want to bag my training. I have not been feeling good and this BP thing is really bothering me. Last night someone told me that I could be suffering from "white coat syndrome" where my nerves make it worse. Well?
COMMIT ME NOW!
I'M NEARLY OVER THE EDGE AS IT IS!!!

Chronically. I'm getting better as I get older, but I still get freaked out.

my son, of all people, tests "high" at the endocrin's office....she keeps mentioning it and i want her to shut up! i can't deal with high BP in a teenager. so, i take it at home and it's a bit lower. she has him freaked out about that effing cuff.

I've been checking it everywhere and with the school nurse each morning...day...
It's driving me crazy. It truly is.
Hey! Can I come to a person with an avatar nurse with a smoke in her hand offering advice??

My BP usually goes up a little bit, but this morning, it was 92/58, and my heart rate was 42. Needless to say, my defibrillator/pacemaker setting were adjusted to up those numbers

Whits coat syndrome has been proven to be false....
If you get high blood pressure when your in the doctors offfice because of stress, you are getting high blood pressure anytime you have stress and therefore have high blood pressure.
In my office, we treat blood pressure for the number. If the number is high, then you get treated for it.
Noley, the drug the doctor gave you is the first line drug. A good drug for blood pressure. It also has properties that will help the kidneys. A good overall drug with very few side effects. The most common being a dry cough.
PM me if you have more Q's

Has anyone or any doc actually said to stop running?
If the only issue is elevated bp, why even blink about it?

some of Abby's white coat young residents who think they know everything get a solid dose of Abby 101. All of Abby's attendings like to have the know it all residents "chat" with me because they learn that they really are not as smart as they think they are.
Overall I am not afraid of docs. It is among the top professions as far as respect and integrity I have ever met. I have learned that being frank and honest with docs and questioning them sometimes is okay.
