Does anyone else watch these shows. Chris and I have finally found some shows we can watch together again.

i LOVE trading spaces!!!
while you were out is ok, but i dont like the host, (teresa?)
everytime i watch TS i get the urge to redecorate... or at least paint my room...
here are my fave designers in this order:
vern-- he has a studio/store here in atlanta. when i get my own place, he is soo doing as many rooms as i can afford...
geniveve
laurie--also from atlanta
frank
the rest; doug, the sleazy looking guy with the ponytail (edward?), and the black lady are my least fav, also in that order.
ooh and ty is pretty hot too. he is from atlanta as well. he has a house and studio in grant park, near the zoo..
dear god, i am such a geek...

I love TS too! Vern and Laurie are definitely my favorites, but I could work with Frank.
I know what you mean about the redecorating. They make it look so easy.

Vern is very cool, he seems to think like we do. Frank (the older guy??) is pretty cool also. The black lady seems a little to far out for us.
We like both of them alot but I think I prefer while you were out more than trading spaces

I like to watch both. I especially like when they hate it and they are afraid to say so

the bbc version of trading spaces (changing rooms) is really neat too. the designers are way more out there than the ones on TS and the homeowners are NEVER afraid to say if they hate a room. in fact most of the CR ive seen have been where they hate it.

Laurie's stuff is the ugliest, and she's the one prone to not get along with the spacetraders. I like her the least.
I love these shows, and watch them with the Goettes. Mr. Go pretends not to be interested but comes at the end to see how it all turned out.

I never saw WYWO, but have caught TS numerous times at Tracy's folks'. It's good for a laugh to see the people's reactions, but other than that 90% of the time, it looks like crap. I would NEVER want that done to my house, ever.

Are you dissin the 'Vern', Rando? That man's got some serious game, yo!
Hildy and Kia suck eggs...the rest are ok...Franks 'knick-knack' style gets old though...
the problem with the show though is that most of the room designs just aren't completely practical...
While you Were Out makes me wanna
Unlikable host (too naggy) and dull staff...if it's the SAME thing everyweek.."will andrew get the armoir done in time??"

And he always does get it done in time, although they give him all sorts of work to do in a short time, not to mention he's the hottest thing on there, so why do they always act like he's some sort of time-management defect?

I think if you had TERESA STRAUSSER nagging you all day you'd slack just to tick her off, yes?

I am a huge Trading Spaces fan, not so much of WYWO though I watch it if nothing else is on. Teresa doesn't bother me nearly as much as that blonde host did - she looked like she was always hopped up on amphetamines. Though that carpenter Andrew is hot.
My favorite designers in order of who I'd let touch my house first:
1. Vern (architect = clean lines)
2. Genevieve (loves real wood, and builds bars)
3. Doug (that convert a garage into a home theatre was awesome)
4. Hildy (loves black, my favorite color)
5. Frank (too country for my tastes; enough with the chickens; too many colors at once)
6. Laurie (too many mismatching pillows and draperies)
7. Edward (he's just plain weird)
8. Kia (that room with the outside indoors - astroturf as a bed spread? please!)
Amy-Wynn Pastor is from Philadelphia and I think she's a more accomplished carpenter than Ty, but he's hotter and funnier so he gets my vote every time. yum.

Hildy is number 4 on your list?
Let's remember now...She spraypainted a couch pink. She PAINTED over carpet. She staplegunned over 7000 plastic flowers to a bedroom wall. She used wine labels for wallpaper (when it was quite obvious that the owners were non-drinkers).
egads!

Alright, pally, I'll give you the plastic flowers and spraypainted couch. Though had it not rained the couch might've turned out well. She spraypainted a chair black once and painted flowers on it and it looked kinda cool!
She never painted over the carpet (if you're thinking of the orange room like I am). But I think that would've looked cool, too.
The wine labels was ingenious, and looked awesome. If the homeowners were that antidrinking they should've said so in their contract (you are allowed to refuse certain things, like "do not touch my hardwood floors or fireplace").
So yes, #4. If Laurie does another rust/avocado green/yellow/brown room a la 70s of if Frank does another 1,000 colored room, I'm going to scream. Those new ones should go the wayside like that other one.
Remember the blonde glasses-wearing hat lady who turned that one living room into the Match Game set with the diamonds on the wall and the aluminum trash can lamps??? THAT was frightening, and was her last show.
