Hi, everyone -

I will be traveling to Phoenix in the next few weeks. I am training for my first full marathon, the San Antonio Rock n Roll. Very Happy I am scheduled to run 22 miles that week. Where would be a good place to run such a long distance? Preferably a place with water fountains, but not mandatory.

Thank you,
Achilles

When I was living in Mesa/Tempe, I used to use the Greenbelt in Scottsdale a lot. It's long enough to run 22 no problem. There's even some water fountains along the way (mostly along the southern portion). There's even a parking lot near the south end at the corner of Curry and Miller. And, if you get that far, take the left at Hayden near Indian Bend, and follow the dotted yellow line to pick up the path again. Continuing straight will just bring you to a dead end, possibly too soon.

Thank you for your running suggestion. It is difficult to find safe and interesting places that can accommodate such a long run without running short "circles" over and over. I will check that route out.
