Holy crap the pollen is everywhere again this year. Everything outside has such a nice yellow shade to it.

I hate to burst your bubble but...
If you talk to any allergist, they will tell you the pollen you can see is "too big" to cause your allergies. The pollens that cause allergies are microscpic.
You have to remember, at this time of year, many more plants other than pine trees are pollinating.

and to make things even better, this year is a big "cicada" year
Cicada Invasion: Eastern U.S. Braces for Bug Swarm
John Roach
for National Geographic News
March 29, 2004
Get ready, Brood X is coming.
This May billions of black, shrimp-size bugs with transparent wings and beady red eyes will carpet trees in the U.S. from the eastern seaboard west through Indiana and south to Tennessee. By the end of June they'll be gone, not to be heard from or seen again for 17 years.
"Many people view them with horror or as an aberration and don't appreciate that they are a natural part of our eastern forests," said John Cooley, a cicada expert at the University of Connecticut in Storrs.
The bugs belong to the largest group, or brood, of periodical cicadas—insects that spend most of their lives as nymphs, burrowed underground and sucking sap from tree roots. They emerge once every 17 years, transform into adults, do the business of reproduction, and then die.

I didn't say anything about having problems with allergies, I said the pollen was everywhere. pine pollen = yellow = everywhere

True story. about 1979 myabe 1980 (just recently after Alien) while i was grass sliding down a hill one of those landed on me. unfortunately it landed on the crotch of my pants and then started that God awful noise. at the time i did not know what it was and thought it might sting me, there. can we say i was a bit nervous? i also thought, "what if it tries to lay eggs there???"

noooooooooooooo! we just had this 17 year thing last year, or the year before. it was disgusting and i believed "them" when they said it would be another 17 years before those crunchy carcasses returned.
something's not right.
