Posted: 08/04/05 - 12:40 Post subject: Where's The Dial Tone?
So my 63 year old dad decided to go cellular and dump his landline. I was talking to him about it over the weekend, and he was checking out mine and my sisters phone's. He picks up my phone, looks at it, and with a straight face asks my sister, I don't hear a dial tone. Me and my sister start cracking up, and I finally that there is no dial tone

some of my best conversations with my 80 year old dad have been on his "GD cell phone....what am i supposed to stand on the bleeepin' roof....are you there? are you there? this bleeepin' thing....." then it's usually a disconnect.
sometimes "it" calls me on its own, from his golf bag. so good. at least i can eavesdrop and see how he's playing, altho most of the time i don't want to know that either.
good luck with that cappy

My boss used to hit his call button by accident all the time. I used to hear him eating his lunch on my voicemail all the time.
One time I yelled "HEY JEFF!!!"
And he almost ran off the road.

That's how a few former restaurant employees got busted cracking on the boss, partying and stealing liquor (free drinks). One had an open face phone and didn't realize he had accidentally hit the call button. It automatically dialed back the last # he had called, which happened to be the boss. He heard all kind of interesting comments about himself, heard them snorting cocaine in the office, as well as helping themselves to drinks. Not too smart. This was last year, right before some MAJOR changes in staffing at the one restaurant.
