to those people in your real life that wouldn't understand, how do you say you know them?
Like in pffff's dream, I say you're all in my running group and we keep in touch via the internet when they confused about why my friend Greg is is PA or why the gym owner I know lives in Lena.

Well A) I don't talk about you people unless forced to because we're meeting up (and there are a few threads I've started already about this very topic  ) But I say "running group" or "running website". However, its getting less and less "weird" with more sites like myspace, theknot, weightwatchers etc etc out there that my friends participate in and talk to people online and in some cases meet in person the people they "met" online. However there are still people who are pretty sure I'm talking to child pornographers here.
