I think my wife will get a newer vehicle in about 2 years when we downsize to a four person family.

I'll wait until the doors fall off of my current truck before I get anything newer.

I will wait until this one dies. According to the mechanic, the body will rust off before the engine will come close to giving out.

Within a year, I think. The hot rod has 175,000 miles on it and it is 10 years old. When it starts nickle and diming and us to death, we'll replace it.

Confused:

Don't know. I'd love it to be soon. But no real reason to. I've got a '94 Accord with over 100,000 miles on it, but those babies will just keep on running. We have never and will never buy an actual NEW car, but I'd like a new (used) car in the next year or so. But it's hard to justify when mine works great and both of ours are paid for. So who knows, in the whole scheme of things I could get by for another couple years probably. We just aren't big on spending lots of money on cars. But to us it's worth it, when our friends complain about bills and money and we see their 2 brand new cars, and hundred upon hundreds of dollars in car payments in a month, I feel glad we don't do that to ourselves. I guess it just depends on how things are financially, too. If my hubby started raking in the money or something I'm sure I'd push for a newer car, but right now there's no rush.

the car i commute with is , for all accounts and purposes, dead. It may be OK for short trips but we don't want to take chances

Nothing in the immediate future, but as soon as we pop out the next little one, we will probably (gulp) get a station wagon or minivan.

Cuz I'm hot, am I not?

That's her plan, brotha, not mine. I'm the one who drives more so she wants me to have the safest car (bless her heart!).

I have one year left to pay on my car. I told hubby he can get a new truck when the car is paid for. I refuse to have 2 vehicle payments. Hopefully his current ride will last that long!!
