We have a variety of investments spread all over. Robin has a 401 k from an old job that is making like 11 percent per year and has almost doubled since she left and has not contributed a dime.

I have a pension from work, deferred comp plus some individual stock I have invested.

Robin has a 403b through tiaa/cref that is doing quite well also. I stay right on top of it and manage it quite well, Robin just puts the money into the account and I decide how it is invest it. So far we are making over 10% per year in our investments.

Diversify is the key

i haven't started... i have one RRSP that i haven't cashed.

it's hard to save for retirement on $10/hr... especially when you go to disney world, want to buy a house, want to buy a car, want to get married.... (...bought more hockey cards then you probably need).

compound interest is still in my favor - but i gotta get moving on that. life isn't much fun if you save all the money you make though...

thought about it and planned for a long time.

Joined the military for its plan. So it looks like I get a nice check every month, along with free meds and VA services to back up my health plan from work.

I also contribute to my 401K plan and have a pensioon coming from the USPS. With Sociual Sec this ought to keep me comfy. I'm used to a certain level and I think I'll be OK with what's coming.

The biggest thing I think about (wife does not in the least) is where to retire. Florida is out (Sorry FL Residents - not interested). I'm seriously looking at Asheville NC or anywhere in the south with two factors. Short winters, non killer summers and no hurricxanes. I've also been looking at Arizona - I like that dry heat. (OK I know about the 120 degs)
