Oh--surely you have something to add! It's neat to read these things--to help me see what I can teach Colin. You have a great perspective--you're at an excellent age to advise on what our young children should be taught.

- ignorance is not an excuse for stupidity: if you don't know, learn before you speak and act
- as long as you are loved, TRULY loved, you can do and be anything
- don't just do your job: do it well
- if you take from society, you are obligated to give back to it
- manners are not optional
- if you get a pet or have a child, you are committed to taking care of it even if it's no longer "convenient" to do so
- the world owes you nothing, so don't expect anything: if you want it, you must work for it
- it is your DUTY to question authority
- learning is a lifelong process that only ends when you die
- wealth, value, and success are not measured by the things that you have or can possess: if you are lucky to have a life partner, a best friend, and puppies who love you unconditionally, YOU HAVE MADE IT

--our framers were all great men, no matter what revisionist lies you are taught in school.
--Most Poly Sci PHD's use their classrooms as a venue for liberal propaganda. Get your A and give em' the finger on the way out the door.
--If you need more money, get two jobs. Don't ask Uncle Sam for help.
--Respect the elderly. They know more about life than you will ever know. Sit with them and just listen, you'll learn about struggle and success.
--Tell you're parents you love them daily. We need it and it helps. I learned this lesson when I became a parent.

I'm always having talks with my kids about these great life lessons, but nothing that hasn't already been said I don't think...
Avoid credit card debt by avoiding credit cards.
Donate all you can whenever you can.
Every action leads to consequence.
Love your family even if you don't like them.
Send thank-you cards.
Use birth control.
Sex isn't love.
Say no to drugs.
Drive responsibly.
USE YOUR TURN SIGNAL!!
Love yourself, even your flaws.
Go to college, even if you don't use the degree.
Eat right. All foods in moderation.
Even if your job is cleaning toilets, do it well. One of mine & DH's favorites.
Marriage IS <supposed to be> for forever, so don't get married until you're ready.
Lead those who are not as wise as you, and follow those who are wiser.
Conservatives rock.
Pray. Often. And be sure to say thanks while you're at it.
