Posted: 03/15/05 - 22:02 Post subject: What the Rottie Puppy has destroyed so far
I thought I would just tally up his destruction because of his boredom of us being gone for two weeks and then another weekend (not that his other two dog-siblings and 10 toys couldn't help):
the gutter downspout-chewed up
the planter holding the fig tree. Fig tree nicely pruned now. Planter chewed up on one side.
2 Running World magazines
Book "Once a Runner"
Book "The Talented Mr Ripley"
Book "Readers Digest" which contained digest from "Flanagan's Run" or something like that. MIL loaned to me. Must explain to MIL that dog ate book.
Book "How to run your best marathon" by Gordon someone..
Book "The 3 Women" romantic early novel by Anne McCaffrey, won't miss
Book "The Holy Bible". God must have been busy with the Pope. Or else it is somehow my fault the dog chewed on portions of it. I'm sure that's another reason I am going to h*ll....
Garbage basket from bathroom
Two full boxes of Kleenex. Artfully strewn about the yard.
One Longaberger basket. From 2002. Cost, about 60 dollars...
The boxed set of Rocky Horror 20th year anniversary..CD's found intact in yard
One Windsor Pilates VHS tape
One unmarked VHS tape
4-6 numerous candles
Three framed photos from the end table in the living room. The frames were toast, the pics were all salvaged.
Needless to say, we've now scoured the bottom shelves of most areas of the house and maybe now we're puppy proof.
I'm sure it will all be funny in a few years. Of course, my husband caught him exiting the house with a
book today...that had to be funny....

We had a puppy that we thought ate a paperback. So, we tried to induce vomitting. We found the paperback minus a cover and a few pages hidden under the tv cart.

I'm hoping he's reading those books before destroying them.

If Puppy swallows a deck of cards intact, and several days later passes them the same, that is an accomplishment. Yes - my parents had an English Bulldog that did just that.

My old dog Nick use to eat socks and underwear and pass them intact. But no books.
(You should put your stilletos on a high shelf to keep them safe!)

but did he shuffle them?? THAT would be aTHE trick.
Kimba
the RHPS would get the dog killed, just the look coming from my eyes and the heat eminatilng from my boiling blood would induce a death like humanity has never seen.

We used to have a cat that could open drawers. Between the cat opening the drawers and knocking stuff on the floor and the puppy chewing it up, they were quite a team.

Our old dog Charlie did this. When he passed a pair of panties at my mom's house once she totally freaked out!!
THANKFULLY our new dog has never chewed anything! He won't even chew on rawhides if we give them to him.
