Posted: 08/11/03 - 23:32 Post subject: What sort of wildlife have you seen while running?
Excluding walks, hikes, and zoo trips (I definitely see more while hiking/walking)
Other than bugs, I've seen:
Birds: sparrows, finches, wrens, crows, woodpeckers, bald eagles, ducks, Canada geese, herons
Mammals: squirrels, mice, a dead rat, and just last Saturday, a coyote
Fortunately I have not met my first bear or cougar...

I hope he's training for something.... That's incredible dedication for not having a particular goal!
Although I think it would be kinda cool to start training to meet S.W.A.T team standards or Army Ranger standards just for kicks.

I've been seeing these along the trail that we have here in town:
I have also seen a fox while running, in addition to the usual gray squirrels, chipmunks, and assorted birds.

There's a walker dude in my neighborhood that has a standard outfit, no matter what the weather, in either red, white, or royal blue: sweatpants, matching sweatshirt tucked in, black socks, gloves tucked into sweatshirt sleeves, hat pulled down nearly over his glasses, and sweatbands for his wrists and head. I almost had an accident last month when I saw him without the gloves and hat and in a T-shirt, all the while screaming "OHMYGOD, PARAMEDIC - THAT'S THE GUY! HE'S CHANGED HIS CLOTHES!"
I need to get out more often.
