How can we keep our kids safe these days?[/quote]
Teach them a proper and effective groin kick.

I see that she was 18 and had parents. I assume the parents had a car...but...
| Quote: | | while walking home from her night shift |
| Quote: | Ms. Teague was last seen about 1 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, walking along Jockvale Road, near Tartan Drive, a 10-minute walk from her Kennevale Drive home.
Her mother, Jean, spoke to her at 12:30 a.m. that night as she was finishing her shift at Wendy's restaurant in Barrhaven Town Centre. After briefly meeting two friends at a convenience store, Ms. Teague said she was headed home to get some sleep before Friday morning high school classes. |
Assuming my daughter is 18 or less and still living at home (these probably won't apply once she goes to college and I hope by then she will have learned to defend herself and to make informed decisions on what is and isn't safe) I have these statements to make:
1. My daughter will NOT be working the late shift at Wendy's no matter how poor we are. She can work from 3-7 after school if she wants AND I will drive her there and pick her up. Her safety is more important than my inconvenience (until she has her own car).
2. My daughter should not be out after dark alone anywhere. If she is, there is a serious problem with her friends, boyfriend or with me (her parent).

I see your point, but what a sad, sad world it is when you have to restrict someone from being alone after dark. I'd never make it if that applied to me. Terrible things do happen, but living in fear is worse.

Jr. BB? |
Not sure how it will be labelled. This is usually a political thing. And we are switching organizations so I'm not sure. but, pound for pound she's got game with anyone.

I was wondering.. I am used to seeing Jr. BB's and Adult BB's. I know in TKD and some other forms they are quite different.
Just curious.

I started at a Take My Dough school. They even had 1/2 bb ranks to string you along.

But you're over 18, male, and understand safety rules and when you weren't sure, you asked if you should ride your bike after your midnight shift or get a ride.
