Posted: 03/22/05 - 08:42 Post subject: What's the drycleaning deal?
So I go to put on my drycleaned shirt a few minutes ago for work and the drycleaners have cut off the buttons on my cuffs to the arms? WTF??? I've never had this happen before and now I need to take the shirt back to have them put back on.
I didn't save the little lime green buttons that came with the shirt for replacement!!! Why would they do this? I don't pay for this kind of service!
Now I'm warming up the iron to iron a different shirt!!

well, I've had shirts dry cleaned that came back with cracked buttons, or half buttons. I'd rather they'd have removed them entirely so they, or more likely someone else, could sew some back on.
Also, on that note, I will be buying french cuff shirts from now on.

There's a huge black market for used buttons.
/You didn't hear that from me, though.

those are the ones where you don't button them, and just roll them up to your forearms, right?

I'm still ticked off.
Those Button Nazi's. All a part of the plan to make me have to drive more out of my way and use up more gas at $2.14/gallon and sit in longer traffic! That's what this is all about.
They're not going to have matching buttons.

my husband was in DC last week for a meeting. he calls me at 7AM ranting that a collar button on his only dress shirt was ripped off by the dry cleaner and they'd left a hole in its place.... he wasn't pleased. i can relate.

This is really the thing I know I'll loathe most about going back to work, dealing w/ drycleaning. It's expensive and a PITA. I feel for you!

OMG I read this twice before I realized they didn't actually cut off the bottoms of your shirt sleeves. I pictured you walking around in a shirt with half the sleeves chopped off.
