Bob the Betta (fish) has started to wriggle his way into the plant reservior on the waterfall set up. as soon as he got this modified planter he looked up as in contemplating this manuever.
so last week i saw him actually jump up and into the well in which the smaller planter sets in. i coaxed him out. well this morning he does it again, he swam out on his own, but WTF??

Could he be harmed in some way by doing there? If not...let him get a new perspective on things.
My mom used to vary the stuff she put next to her fish's bowl, just to give him something new. He felt very threatened by Bert and Ernie, though.

I once had a lunker of a pike on my fishing line. I was reeling him in to the dock and you know what he did? He swam a couple laps around the post holding up the dock and then took off for deeper water. It almost seemed like he knew the line would snap with that maneuver.
I dunno, some fish seem to have gotten two brain cells instead of one. Either way though, they're pretty dopey critters.

Pike are masters at that kind of stunt. Sometimes it backfires though.... I was reeling in a good sized pike and as I got him close to the boat I told my son to get the landing net ready. No need for that - Mr. Pike decided to make an airborne dash for freedom and launched himself out of the water like a rocket.... and right into my boat! Where he of course decided to flail around madly until he had no less than 7 rods/reels worth of crap tangled around him.

possibly, if he decided to jump again once in the well. thought he'd have to be well aimed to get out of the reservoir.
Due to this though there has been an engineering modifcation on the assembly line already.

Now I'm really scared. I have a Beta fish too. His name is Cinnamon. Cinny for short.
We have way to much in common.
