to wear to a funeral?
We have a funeral to go to on Tuesday. A gentleman who works with BC lost his little girl on Tuesday night. (She was 3)
By God's good grace, I haven't had to go to a funeral in awhile, so I don't quite know what to wear.
Could you please advise?
Also, please say a prayer for this family and hug your little (and not so little ones) tight.

I don't think its a matter of what you wear, more of that you are there.
3 years old, way too young

What a shame! When they're children, it seems so much worse. I'd think any type of dress clothes in basic colors would be fine.

So very sad.
Attire is really just up to you. I've been to more than my fair share of funerals in the past few years, and seems like anything is acceptable. I wore a purple/black print dress with a matching cardigan to my aunt's funeral, and then a navy pantsuit to my grandmother's. Just something nice will do just fine.
Keeping this family in my thoughts. I cannot imagine the loss of a child.

I'm sorry; that's so sad.
I'd wear black; but to echo everyone else, I think the family will be more comforted by your presence and probably isn't going to notice anyone's attire.

I'm sorry to hear this too.
I'm sure whatever you wear will be just fine.
I would go with something dark in color myself.
I hope all goes well.

Thank you guys for the advice. I just didn't want to offend or be insensitive.
I just don't know how I'm going to make it through--I can't imagine a three year old.

I had to attend the funeral of a six month old baby, a victim of SIDS. They are very difficult.
I wore a navy pantsuit.
