no dear... it's what you want...
no dear... it's what YOU want..

this makes movie store decisions tough.

i put my g/f first almost all the time... i'm not convinced she always puts me first. at least it's always first when it's convenient for her, and heaven forbid i put someone else first that night... oh my.

most of my decisions are based on what would make her, then i, happy. at some point i'm gonna have to put i before her, on a few more occasions.

You're right. This scenario works only when both parties are committed to this behavior. Otherwise, you get a really one-sided relationship.

In all seriousness, I think a sense of humor is very important in a relationship. Also little things, like a back scratch, foot rub, putting the coffee pot on timer.

I would have to say finding someone that complements you, whose strengths support your weaknesses, and vice versa. Some one who completes you, similar interestes (not necessarly the same).

Someone who is willing to listen, and take on their share of the household duties and more when the other partner is sick.

Someone who understands when there have to be spaces in your togetherness, but also knows when to give a longer time to listen and spend time if necessary.

Someone who heats and packs up hot bowls of steaming soup for you and your sick employee, complete with hot buttered fat slices of bread and brings them to you.

Someone who is able to constantly focus on the long-term, not just the short and understands that everyone has difficulties.
