The Raiders, one year ago, were in the Super Bowl.

Now...the follow that with a terrible season, fire their coach...

and now, they have been rejected.

Sean Payten...Dallas Cowboys Qb Coach, and assistant Head Coach, has turned down an offer to coach the Raiders.

Something stinks out in Raiderland. Sean Payten turns them down? Wasn't he basically fired as O coordinator of the Giants by Fassel, and he is turning down an offer to be a head coach?

Thoughts?

Well, I know they are real old.

and I know, they aren't really that good.

but...

A guy who was fired as a coordinator a year ago, turns them down to be their head coach?

That is almost a slap in the face...if you understand what I am talking about.

Maybe there is hope for the Patriots coordinators after all.

Methinks Payten will try and spend some more quality time learning some of Parcells' tricks.

If you think about it, I'd take working for Parcells over Al Davis any day of the week. Al Davis ought to take a cue from Jerry Jones and learn how to swallow his pride, spend $$ on a great coach and just get out of the way.

I was thinking along the same lines. Looks like Dallas is on the up and up. Might as well hang around rather than join a crappy team.

I think Al Davis has been caught up in the "throwback coach" movement and is holding out for John Madden. Mr. Green
