"best teacher" gifts this year. Hats, mugs etc.

I say a combined total of 20.

I can see where you'd think that. I doubt I'd get other prof's gifts though. Kathryn (who is also my academic advisor) is less like a teacher and more like a friend/mentor. We have one another's home and cell numbers in our cell phones, and we talk about all types of things. She's really neat, someone I know that I will know for the rest of my life.

I felt bad that the other girls didn't really do anything for her. She had all of us over to her home on Monday for the IN-Law Christmas party (legal organization at school), about 35 of us. She's just above and beyond what a standard teacher is.

With MIL being gone, it's rather nice to have another woman I can really admire and talk to.

I think that is really nice. Always good to develop those relationships. I am sure that it meant a lot to her that you gave her something.
