talked to your SO by choice (not circumstance, ie. travel, hospital, etc)
I mean if you are really teed off with him/her what is the longest that you have not had conversation.

I have slept in the spare bedroom on a few occasions. Since I was asleep, I would say, less than 8 hours before an apology came from someone.

 I agree! Although Scot/Irish and French Canadian in this household. We've been married for 10 years next month and we have never had a fight. There have been times if we had decided not to communicate how we felt it would have been a fight or the "silent treatment" but it has never come to that. Our neighbours once didn't speak to each other for a month.  I can never understand that. The kids will learn a whole bunch from that no?

You know, unless I was stolen from, cheated on, or blamed for something I didn't do, I think more than a a few hours of cooldown time borders on ridiculous and childish.

We stop talking once in a while. It is usually to eat.
