been given?

For me it was from my dad who always told me, "Pack only what you can carry because chances are there won't be someone to carry it for you".

He taught me this when I was really young and packing for trips. I feel this advice really fits so many areas of my life.

Especially when it comes to taking on projects or volunteering for things.

Anyone else??

My grandfather told me, "Son, keep that thing in your pants until you're married."

Of course I didn't heed his advice, but it was still good advice.

"you can do whatever want to in life if you believe you can do it"

and it's true.

kinda like the folks that told him to sell his business when it struggled... now he's laughing all the way to the bank... (more specifically the Bike shop...)

but seriously, he's the one that got me paying attention to those motivational, life strategy type books n stuff. and i've just learnt a lot from it. that and he calls me lazy.

From Dad: "if you believe it, it is possible"

From Mom: "you can do anything a man can do, but better and with more style"

An old friend once told me 'don't let insignificant people affect you'.

I've been living by it since. If someone cuts me off, I don't let it bother me. If some stranger says something mean or offensive to me, it means nothing...

Works pretty well!
