Whether you've already celebrated your Thanksgiving, whether you're eagerly gearing up for Thursday, or even whether you don't celebrate the holiday, I hope you'll share with us some of the things in your life that you feel you truly have reason to be thankful for.
For me, it's:
-- my wonderful, loving supportive group of friends, without whom I really would be lost--words can't express what they all mean to me and I love them dearly, every one
-- my incredibly supportive boss who, despite knowing that I'm going to be leaving him in two years, has gone above & beyond to be flexible in encouraging my continuing education and career development
-- my equally awesome co-workers, many of whom are friends on the "outside" as well
-- my best friend and roommate Matt, who has seen every side of me there is to see, even the scary ones and hasn't run away screaming after over twelve years
-- my fragile but tenacious grip on good health, for which I am grateful every day that I can still get out of bed in the morning
-- a life-changing trip overseas, which didn't go exactly as I had hoped, but did force me to take a hard look at myself and face a lot of things I've been avoiding for a long time--and to one person in particular who may not have seen the best side of me, I'm sorry things didn't go so well, but I'm still really glad we finally got to meet
-- my ability to run, no matter how slow or how far
-- and finally, for the power of the Internet for bringing me in contact with so many amazing and inspiring people. Happy holidays, Riff Raff!
Now. You. Go.

I'm thankful for running.
That I had most excellent parents.
That I have a good husband and son.
And two furry bodies with tails to wag and greet me everyday!

I am thankful:
For the lessons I learn every day (and the chance to summarize them at the end of the week!)
For the people in my life, albeit few, who get me even though they don't always understand me.
My son, who is my anchor and my sail at the same time.
For my mother who showed me how well single parenting can be done, and not to give in to family guilt. You can't choose your relatives.
For tuna in a pouch.
For my experiences, both joyful and painful, who made me the person I am today.. (But don't fire up the kiln yet. )

I'm thankful for having the b@lls to quit feeling sorry for myself and turn everything around this past year. I'm thankful I found the guts to quit smoking and start exercising. To start eating right. To start weight training, which also led to my running obsession.
I'm thankful for my running giving me better self-confidence and a better self-image, and the overall better quality of life I've experienced because of it.
I'm thankful for a certain woman who decided to talk to a shy guy at a wedding reception. I'm thankful that I get to see her as often as I do, even though we live a few hours apart.
I'm thankful for my roomy, Moe, who demands kitty treats everytime I set foot in the kitchen, but also makes a darn good alarm clock at 5am.
For the Riff-Raff for keeping me motivated and always being here for support.
I'm thankful for being able to like my job and receive a steady paycheck, even if I'd like it to be larger.
And Beer. I'm really, really, really, really thankful for beer.

I've strategically surrounded myself with kind living things that would take a bullet for me...well, they'd take a super soaker blast for me at least...
I've got my life. It's pain-free. And I couldn't be more content.
Oh, and of course:

I'm thankful for:
A great husband who has always, always supported everything I've wanted to do from changing careers, going back to school, taking up running, putting up with me in general.
Good friends, from those I've known for years, to the ones here. You guys always make me smile.
A job that I truly love. I may not make tons of money, but I enjoy going to work (almost) every day, and each year am amazed that I can fall in love with a whole new group of kids.
All my pets. From the 2 that are up in years and having health issues, to the younger ones who still bring me dead birds, wake me up in the middle of the night, or snuggle with me. They make me slightly less selfish.
For school. I never thought I'd enjoy learning so much, or be such a perfectionist about it.

A God of second chances. And third, fourth, and ad infinitum...
A wife who tries to be as laid back as I am.
A son who has the right intentions (though the results are often the exact opposite - can you say "Re-install Windows"? I knew you could.).
The charm and goofiness for 15 years of our pup - his legacy.
Discovering some sort of talent at this running game. And remember, it is a game.
And the people I've met from it, whether already in person, or just through here - your time will come.
