Ok, I just got back from my principal friend's funeral and a co-worker gave a nice and fun eulogy.....which, of course, led to this thread......
So what are they gonna say about you?
(and do you think you should at least write a rough draft for them now?)

I know I'd like to have a couple Riff Raffers say something. And a couple people I know in addition. I know the service (not the wake) had better include some Oils and some Radiohead in the music.
And what would I want them to say? In no particular order:
- Agree with him or not, you know where you stood with him.
- He would always listen, even if he always didn't understand.
- He was graced by a God of second, third, and fourth (etc.) chances.
- He had a wife and family he was proud of (this assumes g-pup marries and has granddaughters for LC to spoil ).
- He mattered for good.

hey Sue what about this one
Green-Eyed Ladyby Sugarloaf
| Quote: | Green Eyed Lady lovely lady
Strolling slowly towards the sun
Green eyed lady ocean lady
Soothing every raging wave that comes
Green eyed lady passion's lady
Dressed in love she lives for life to be
Green eyed lady feels like I never see
Setting suns and lonely lovers free
(Organ solo)
(long instrumental break)
Green eyed lady windswept lady
Moves the night the waves the sand
Green eyed lady ocean lady
Child of nature friend of man
Green eyed lady passions lady
Dressed in love she lives for life to be
Green eyed lady feels like I never see
Setting suns and lonely lovers free |

As long as they don't say something along the lines of "I thought she died long ago" I'll be happy.

I want to be cremated, and to have Pink Floyd's "Shine On, You Crazy Diamond" played in it's entirety. I would like people to remember me honestly. I don't want any false accolades. I'd like to know that even if I didn't make a big positive impact on someone else's life, at least I did not screw up too badly, and that I tried to treat others as I wished to be treated.

I think at my funeral everyone will wonder where the notes I've doubtless left as to how I wanted things done are.
Seriously, I'm OK with it conceptually but I don't like to think about it specifically b/c I know that when I go I'll be leaving my kiddies, and the thought of that is really, deeply upsetting to me.
I hope people tell stories that capture the spirit of who I was, and it's not so sad. I hope my community works hard to make the saddest of them feel at least a little better for a few minutes, and are able to give them something to hold on to while they try to get through it.
