I can't vouch for the early 30's...... But the early 80's were great for the music and bar scene!!!

i successfully beat all the wimmins in my last race 
and at the same time when i was 16, i was getting beat by the 13 y/o girls in my group... so yeah lol. (granted i didn't have olympian genetics - but whatcha goin do? )
