The girlie made me pancakes in the shape of hearts. She also gave me a perfect card and picked out a necklace and earrings without Daddy's help. Apparently she made a point to tell him not to help her.
She was also having a shortage of sassmouth this morning. God love her.

I got a day with both kids and DH shopping, dinner, and picked what I wanted. 2 new pair of running shorts and dinner at Old Chicago. It was the first time we did the shopping/dinner/family thing in a looooong time. It was actually a good time. It was sorta hard to write a check for $254.49 at Sam's though. Teenage boyz like to eat.
You made out well to Jenn!

we (I) got the mom a gift card to her favorite fabric store and we (dad) got her some new earrings that she swears that she has already.
we (I) also got her a nice card that says shes special and we (dad) got her a card that has a mom sleeping on a sofa with the family standing around her. on the inside it says "oh no! the servers down!" while we all thought it was funny, i dont think she did.

Son created a beautiful (it really is!) construction paper and crayon card that says I'm the best Mom in the whole world. ...priceless.
Daughter #1 drew a cute picture of me and made a puffball and pipecleaner catepillar/clothespin/magnet thingy for the refrigerator
Daughter #2 has been picking dandelions for me all morning ... she's 3 1/2

Noley 2 gave me a cute plant in a silver tin container from her school. She also brought breakfast to me in bed consisting of dry Fruit Loop cereal in a bowl (she doesn't pour the milk yet/I don't like them to carry liquids around the house).
Noley 1 volunteered to make and prepare lunch today...sandwiches, chips, yogert, drinks.
Noley 3 just gave me big smootches this morning while I was still laying down in bed. He nestled right under my chin with the blankie I gave him when he was born. Otherwise, he has no clue about what Mother's Day is about. I feel lucky. To get him to stay still for any amount of time is a good thing and to snuggle...
The gym I workout at gave every mother there a flower as they left. Great gym!
I talked to both my mother and stepmother...and all the rest of the family to share a little of the day with them. They sounded great and my stepfather even talked to me (he hasn't been doing so since he's learned that he's going to stay blind).
All in all, it's been a nice Mother's Day. I'm fortunate to have these children, as much as they can drive me crazy.

Going to add this one last thing. My ex was traveling last week and I had the kids. He mentioned taking them tonight when he returned, so I could get some rest. He drove straight from the airport and to my house. He arrived and hid a gift/card for my kids to sign as they were leaving while I packed their things into his truck. When they gave it to me...it was a nice surprise. I'm thankful that he's on the same line of thinking as myself. He is nice to care and make sure the kids do something for me. I think I'm lucky. Not many would ever consider doing this.
It was a good ending to a good day.

We got Robin some flowers where part of the cost goes in her name to World Vision to purchase a well in the villages of the two "daughters" we have in Sri Lanka and India. She wanted nothing else this year.
I got her a card from me and
the kids all signed their name to another card (complete with backwards "JJ", H for Hannah and scribbles for Abby) and I traced all of their hands inside the card so she could remember how little they were.
