Posted: 06/01/04 - 14:13 Post subject: Well, my dress came today for Kristin's wedding.....
can you say PLUNGING NECKLINE!!!
It's...ahem....a little...OK, a LOT lower cut than I thought it was going to be but it is reallllllly pretty and it actually looks nice on me! More so I think with the new 'do. The style goes nice with the shorter hair. Fortunately there's a little flower pinned right at the lowest cleavage point so my scars from the surgery don't appear to show and it does take up a teeny bit of the plunge. When I first put it on though
Kristin, wait til you see the color too! It's not quite as bright a coral as it looks in the book, it's more subtle but it's a great material and the empire waist hides a multitude of sins. I may actually order the black version just to have as another little black dress. Did Lizzie get hers yet?

Cool! I didn't realize that the neckline was that low. I don't think Lizzie has hers yet; we've been playing phone tag for about a week now. I'm glad that you like it!!
VS is usually pretty reliable but sometimes they can surprise you!

Just don't wear a push up bra or anything so it's not accentuated TOO much. Sounds great though. What's the date of the wedding by the way??
PS, did you ever post of pic of the new do? If so I missed it. Come on, we want to see!!!!!!

I dunno about posting what it looks like on me, but this is the dress (no, it is NOT going to look anywhere this good on me) I still have two months to work on my back & shoulders, which are coming along nicely, albeit slowly. It's backless to the waist so everything shows.
I definitely think I need to buy it in black and now it's on sale!
As far as the surgery (sorry, Hyper, you asked) let's just say the girls are considerably smaller than they were pre-surgery but I qualify that with the fact that it was pretty much medically necessary because I have a family history of breast cancer. I would not have done it for purely cosmetic reasons, especially since the recovery SUCKED. Between early detection at a DD being next to impossible because of the density, I also had a really bad problem with cysts which can predispose you to breast cancer (they removed 35 when they did the surgery). Something I didn't share with too many people here is that the biopsy of the last of them had come back showing atypical hyperplasia, which is an unusual pattern of cell development that not a true carcinoma but an in-between stage and very often an indicator that breast cancer will follow, since you start to see abnormal cells filling up the lobes in the tissue. Since my family is high risk, the doctor said the surgery was no longer optional.

WOW genie, not sorry i asked. i can handle some pretty small "girls". and for the reasons you indicated i'd prefer a smaller version that would be seen longer. (ok, not by me but you get the idea).
the dress looks adorable,( or is that the model?) i'll take one of each, just to be certain.
