Posted: 03/31/06 - 13:07 Post subject: Well, I had the 2nd interview
....and it went really well. I got to meet my future cow-orkers and they all seem really nice! It was a weird interview though, I came in at the end of their staff meeting and there were like 7 of them sitting in this little tiny room I figured, this calls for some comic relief, so I turned to Big Boss Dude and said, hey, you said there were only gonna be two! They all laughed, and he ushered me into a seat in the MIDDLE of the room, saying it was the hot seat.....so I say, "where's the buzzer?" They all laugh again and everyone relaxes. Whew. I grilled them pretty good about what a typical day is like, what's the most rewarding and most frustrating parts of the job, and one in particular who's pretty outspoken answered a lot of my questions without my having to ask. I like her already. Got a good realistic view, sans boss's sales tactics, of the job, although his version was relatively accurate to theirs. It was really ME interviewing THEM about what they do and stuff, I don't remember them asking me many questions about my background at all. That was really a good way to handle it, I thought.
We talked salary and benes afterwards and he basically asked if I'd be interested if he can get me my asking price. I actually am! LOTS of flexibility in this job, on call responsibilities for a week once every couple months, but they said it's not really that big of a deal. Extra bonus: paid expenses which he said add up to about another $2000 a year....gas, mileage, stuff like that, which pretty much I'd have to buy anyway. Area isn't that big so I think that's a win. Pretty good benefits package too.
I think he really liked me so I have a feeling he'll fight for what I asked for....I'm supposed to hear middle of next week and then he said I can start whenever I'm available. Interesting turn of events, but I really think I am going to like this job. Please keep the good vibes comin' for a few more days......thanks!!!

She's moving in with WTR's brother. | Tough to say who should be felt sorry for in that situation.

I thought Mech was moving to Duluth??
It's local, which is good and bad. I was really hoping the Madison job would come through but apparently Someone just doesn't want me to move out there. It's an agency based in Chester County so it's all local families. And you primarily work out in the field, or at home, so you're only actually in the office about once a week. THAT part I like!!

And so weekly visits to New Glarus will not happen.
