population :: ME! Neutral

Just got in from the podiatrist's office. After a few X-rays and a consult with the podiatrist, he's sticking with a tendonitis diagnosis.

I'm not surpirsed. I'm just glad he didn't swing the big ax and call it a stress fracture. Shocked

He put this pad thingy under my arch and told me no running for the next 4 days and very limited cycling (50 MPW). We supposed to get a 'script for some anti-inflammitories [sp?] but forgot to get it.

Here's my plan :: Continue to ride high mileage and get back into running. I did 3 miles yesterday and 4 today (with the new orthotics both days) and was able to do it with very mild irritation. A little ice and ibuprofen afterwards and I was good to go. In fact, it was hard for the Dr. to find the injured spot on my foot, it has been healing so well.

Still got a moderate case of PF that I'm trying to get rid of but the new orthotics are supposed to help with that too.

One more thing about the orthotics, the hip irritation/tightness that I usually have after every run is gone completely. When I do my normal stretch for the hips I can't feel a pull at all. Dancing Banana

Here's to hoping I can train through this injury and keep on going. cheers

Did he give you anything for it or suggest what you could take?

It will be if I have anything to do with it.

He was supposed to give a prescription for anti-inflammatory but I either forgot to pick it up or he never wrote it. I probably wouldn't have filled it anyway. The pain is pretty much gone now. Nothing Ibuprofen can't handle.
