Posted: 06/16/03 - 10:38 Post subject: Weekend reports: Win, place, or DNF?
Since my weekend was so crappy I am hoping to live vicariously through some of you who had better ones......
Highlights:
A nice long chat with Keltic on Saturday morning
A phone call from Kristin Saturday afternoon
watching Drumline on Friday night--great movie if you were a band geek!
Lowlights:
I am STILL sick as a dog with whatever I caught two weeks ago and almost ended up in the ER on Saturday night because I was having such trouble breathing. Coughing my brains out and generally miserable, too sick to enjoy the nice weather on Sunday.
Friend across the pond is having technical difficulties so we did not get to chat this weekend...BIG
Had to postpone Father's Day gathering with Dad since we are both sick.
Several friends in crisis this weekend, lots of phone calls back and forth. I hate it when people I care about are hurting!
Average rating for weekend: to
Anyone else have a more optimistic report?

I'll turn that frown upside down, G!
Highlights:
-They capped our addition, so next step is putting up walls
-we sold Tracy's car for $200 less than listed
-Bought a 2000 Mazda MPV - loaded, 13k miles, for a great deal (private owner)
-Tracy's dad watched Mike on Saturday so I could get all chores/lawncare out of the way so I could lay around on Sunday
-Had a nice party at Tracy's cousin's on the lake Saturday
-Michael took a 2 hour nap on me Sunday morning, and we had a blast watching him splash around in his new pool
-Went to a local air/car show, which was cool, although too loud for Michael's tastes.
Lowlights
-The weekend is over!

Genie sorry you weren't feeling better. (Note to self:get Genie's number for desperate moments)
Me: Worked on Saturday. Sat night with just me and hubby
Sunday: Had a great race. Spent rest of day with hubby and inlaws. Made a great salad to go with steak for dinnah and homemade butter pecan icecream..yummy!!!!
Funny thing happened. We took our dog Sophie swimming yesterday in a pond by our house. (Yellow lab) When she got sick of swimming after the ball she decided to dig for rocks. She would dig them out with her front paws and the dive - with her head under water- and come back to shore with the rock. We'd throw it out and she would do it all over again. I've never seen a dog dive with their head under water. She was so funny. Today she's so tired!
Overall: for weekend.

Gina: that sucks and I did try to call last night but figured you were out or visiting the family. Hope you do get well.
My weekend.......
Well to put it mildly was a okay in spots and sheer dumbs@@t in other places.
"Friday
Wanted to leave early (3:30) but the bombshell news that my VP justed resigned had all of the senior managers in a panic and so some of us had to stay late to form a startegy of things to do come Monday.
So I missed my run.
"Saturday"
Blew off the long run and ended up not doing much the whole day or night.
"Sunday"
Get a call at 4 AM saying we were having systems problems so I took the bike out for the first time since the accident to work and then spend 4.5 hours fixing code that someone overwrote.
So I misssed my 8 mile long run again and decided to run it at 3:30 PM and did okay the first 4 miles but the humidity, and lack of wind just kicked my @ss and ended up walking home.

Friday :: Tried a new, longer and hillier commute route home. Nice 20 mile ride. Mowed the lawn and hung around the house.
Saturday :: Got up early to go on a long ride, but the Mrs. wasn't feeling well so I stayed with her all day. Took her out to a movie. Movie sucked, but I think she needed to get out. She's been stuck in the house for a long time and needed to get out.
Sunday :: Tried to get up early again, but again, Mrs. wasn't doing well so I stayed with her. Took the girls to church (great service). Got in a long ride and then came in to clean the office.
Official Announcement :: Mrs. Hayes has another appt. with the Dr. this afternoon and I'm betting dollars to doughnuts that he's going to have us schedule surgery again within the next week and a half.
With the exception of church and the bike rides, the weekend was

Winner three day weekend here in Wobegon. My church's state conference puts on a week "camp meeting". We pulled our travel trailer down for the first 3 days. A couple thousand people with oodles of classes for adults and kids in age groups. Just an excellent chance to bend the ears of church leaders, get the scoop on some hot topics, and of course, lots of inspirational speakers and stories. On the way home we hit a waterslide park for a good Daddy's day time with my boys

Great weekend for me as well. Good friend Angie came up from Chicago and stayed with us (she's supah fun!), and we're 'possibly' going to take a trip to Australia with her! woo hoo!
Despite just 4 hours of sleep I set a new 10K pr for myself on Saturday morning (instant good mood for days, yes?)...
Cleaned the house on Saturday, then cooked out and camped in our backyard. We bought a new tent last week and it rocked!
Sunday, we went to my pops house for Father's day...sat outside, had some drinks and enjoyed the weather/company!
Came home and relaxed....ahhhhhhh.....
(i even have today off!)

Genie and Mrs. PH, get well soon.
My weekend was long but good. Saturday up at 5:00 to get in a brick workout. 1.5 hour ride and 1/2 hr run in 100% humidity. The bike was OK; but, the run felt like a steam room. Then off to a sword seminar from 10 to 4. Topped it off with diner with most of the class.
Sunday, a run and yard work in the morning and off to my parents for Father's Day. Of course no one has ever gone home hungry

Friday: Spent the evening running and bike riding. I just felt awesome the whole time.
Saturday: Went rollerskating for the first time in probably 15 years. Thought for sure I was gonna bust my butt, but I didn't! It all came right back. We had a blast! Went to in-laws. Then we went shopping and I got a new pair of shades.
Sunday: Got a ton of stuff done! Went to the Nike outlet store and got a new coolmax shirt for $20 and 2 pairs of shorts ($12 each!) Went to dads, had a few drinks. Relaxed.
Overall weekend

Mediocre.
Friday: One of my aunts passed away and my very young aunt with alzheimers wandered off and was missing for several hours
Saturday: had a great 7 mile run (I chopped a mile off my previously scheduled 8 mile run) with fantastic weather, slept a lot recouping from disney, went to a cookout with friends.
Sunday: went to the church I've found I really like, saw an ex there for the first time since we broke up . Later I lost my mind and adopted a kitten to be a companion for my lonely pathetic cat (and had to swear up and down to my sister and my best friend that 2 cats is the limit! I promise! It really is!). Did some errands and housework.
