Posted: 10/15/04 - 18:11 Post subject: Weekend Getaway Suggestion
The lovely bride and I are looking to get away for our 11th wedding anniversary at the end of this month. Our anniversary is the 30th
We decided on the Pocono area.
Any suggestions/recommendations on places to stay, things to do, etc.

Find a cheap motel, get some tawdry looking undies for you and her. Put her in the closet and yell "Marine Raiders !!"
After ELEVEN YEARS OF MARRIAGE we, the audience, have to provide suggestions ?

We,..umm,..I mean,.."some friends of ours" stayed at the Caesars Palace there.
Call and tell them you want a deal on an anniversary package. We,..I mean,..."our friends" were able to get a pretty good deal on our,...umm,...their honeymoon that way.
There's some good hiking around there too.

I hear the ceasers (sp) place has a lot of swingers and is kind of creepy (Greg, Officers Brown(s) told me that so exercise caution, I trust them)

I didn't get that vibe at all, but we didn't really do a lot of mingling with others either.

ICKO. What about one of the resorts, like Camelback or Pocono Lodge, the ski type places? They usually have pretty good packages, nice rooms and a lot of stuff to do.

I don't mean to bring this party down but we did a timeshare exchange once to go to the Pocono's. We had a 7-day trip planned...we came back after 4 days. Of course, we went right between seasons. The outdoor pools were closed, the ski resorts weren't open. But, we had a pretty boring time. My son was only 4 yrs old at the time and, although the hiking is pretty excellent there is only so much hiking you can do with a 4-yr old. If you go you must go see "The Niagra Falls of PA." I'm not sure exactly what the name was but they were beautiful falls...many of those to see around the area.
But, my is stay at home, send the kids away for the weekend, turn off the phones, light some candles and you'll save a lot of money!

After looking at some of the prices and discussing with the Mrs. we are prolly gonna either head to Cape May (in laws own a condon there) or just stay home. MIL is watching the kids all weekend.
