Talk about a battle of attrition. Some of you know I am a lobbyist. The legislative session ends on June 2 (our legislative sessions run 140 days every two years). Due to a number of different circumstances, this session is much harder on every one involved.

I worked from 8 am until 2 am Wednesday, then 8 am until 10 pm last night, now will work until about 1 am. We will work Saturday from about 9 am until 1 or 2 am, and the same hours on Sunday--then probably the House will give us a break, but the Senate (which took the weekend off) will crank up and work late. I have two bills in each chamber that I have to track--and action could take place on one of them at any time, so alot of my work now is sitting, watching, calling and talking to people to see what the next "play" is, and nervously waiting. But I am surrounded by lots of people I know doing the exact same thing.

Anyway, I am beat down and exhausted, and left with about three more weeks of this. You gotta love this or you burn out--seen alot of them come and go over the last 15 years. My boss (at it for 29 years) is so beat he has to sneak back to the office and take a nap--he thinks I don't know what he is doing

My job is sort of hard to explain. But thought I would give you some idea of what they pay me to do.

yeah, but it's not in the room, it's in a "business center" Things are good. I loaded up at the buffet at lunch time, and just downed a bunch of pizza, so I'm all carbo-loaded for the race tomorrow.

WKRP song kept running through my head all morning.

Actually, what I am doing is hoping they don't make ONE law. Sadly, I have to sit and wait and watch as they make many other ones..or not...or whatever. Huge DD is required, thanks!

he's not making them, he's just trying to influence the people who do! That's why he's carrying that checkbook and several pens.

Man, even reading something like that makes me breakout in a sweat Shocked Political contributions are cutoff 30 days before session to the end--they would take somebody out and hang them as an example if they could ever find anyone stupid enough.

I don't want them to legalize the sale of wine direct to consumers
