Thanks for asking, Joe! Well, the show went great! ...and how about that surprise guest showing up unannounced? That's right I got to meet EL and his wife...Not the scowling, cynical person-hater that I thought he was! Super nice guy! although I do believe he did call me an, and I quote, 'assface' right off the bat for posting his picture here on riff raff...

But it was nice of him to come down. The show didn't start until 10 (he came at 8.) so we retreated to the bar where he bought us all some drinks and we chatted about sports, running and other goofy stuff that I can't recall etc...Later he would get me drunk and take advantage of me at the bowling alley, sure it looks like I'm happy, but he photoshoped that smile on me...sniff...sniff...

I also got to meet his wife! Very nice gal, indeed (note: she did NOT call me an asshead).

So to the show, it was a strange venue....Just this huge old basketball court with humongous 1970's billboards hanging up on the brick walls. I got some pics and I'll try to post later. I was just a bit nervous. We played 7 songs and I had never played 3 of them with the band! So I had to get my 'impro' on...

A nice crowd showed up, and we took the stage. It felt so great to be up there again Mr. Green We had a great show and they even wanted an encore so Gabriel jumped back up there and strummed a new song on the acoustic. Lots of pats on the back afterwards and i found out that someone was recording us! So hopefully I can pick up the disc today and listen. And if it's good enough I'll let you buy a copy!! Seriously though, I'll see if PH can help me download a tune so y'all can hear it!

And sorry, John. We didn't do the Air Supply encore that I had promised...

Joel

You've got to wear the angel outfit. I'll chip in! Wink

Joel, if you need a backup vocalist in Madison, I am your man.

Two of the members in the band are from Madison. Heck, I may try to book a gig that weekend so you all can check us out. But please, don't throw your manties on stage...

Two influences that come to mind are Radiohead and coldplay...

I was hoping for more of a Barry Manilow/Air Supply mix.
