...information regarding a gift I received yesterday.
Suckers! Now you're going to get the whole story but there's still time to bail...
Okay, then.
A totally unexpected gift arrived via Mr. Postman yesterday. Even with an upcoming birthday, I didn't anticipate it. I recognized the return address - Bologna, Italy. That meant that I had a package from my favorite Italian pipemaker. The size of the box indicated that it very well could be a pipe. As I wasn't aware that he (Alberto Bonfiglioli) knew about my birthday, I was delighted to find that the package did indeed hold a pipe. But, here's where it gets interesting...and me to the point of all of this (insert applause/derisive sneers/etc.): included in the package was a bar of chocolate. The wrapper had this label: "Cioccolato Puro." Okay, we can all guess that one. However, the note he attached to it said: "Chocolate made with my own blend." Okay, so he knows English but, when I turned it over, another label had this printed on it: "Cioccolato Fondente Puro Al Tabacco." And this: "Ing: Cioccolato fondente al 70%, zucchero e tabacco."
Folks (those who are still with me), we can all be sure that Italian word for tobacco is, well, tobacco. And I'll take a wild stab and say that zucchero is, uh, sugar? (He finally comes to the question...)
Has anyone ever heard of, or actually eaten, chocolate with tobacco as an ingredient?
Okay, back to the regularly schedulted programming.

Too cool! I work at a chocolate factory but have never heard of this!
My husband is a pipe smoker, too, but I'm guessing hasn't heard of this either!
Too cool!! Something new to research!!!!

Yeah! And I knew this one guy who brought some chocolate brownies to work one afternoon. I was still in the Navy and it was the eve watch. (2nd shift for the non-Nav types.) Man, that was the longest watch that I ever worked. Ate one of the brownies. Later, I had trouble concentrating on my work. The normally riveting classified traffic concerning Russian ship movement in the Mediterranean just didn't grab me as it usually did.
Is that along the same lines?

Yes, I've heard of this. You just told me.
No, never have tried it. I don't think I would. Chocolate is all kinds of good, but with tobacco--pipe or otherwise--ick.
Maybe though, when he says "tobacco," it's code for that other fine smoking stuff. That, OTOH, could be good stuff!
Kidding. I partake in no such thing anymore.
