biggest company employer
i am sure the state and u.s. government employ more than that
that is pretty sad, no "real companies" on the list like boeing, etc

By real companies you mean manufacturing? Seems as though the economy has opportunities only in the service industries. Manufacturing has moved to other countries.

that is correct
it is probably a combination of a changing economy, higher wages and cheaper foreign labor

I used to work at Penn. It felt like its own city. 25,000 people.
I'm pretty opposed to Wal-Mart for a few reasons. The main one is that when they learned that employees were sleeping in their cars b/c they didn't earn a wage large enough to pay for housing, Wal-Mart chose to open their parking lots at night so their employees wouldn't have to worry about where to park their car/houses. They could have chosen to raise the pay but didn't.
I shop at Target instead.

I can't say to much against Walmart. I work for a small to
medium size manufacturing company and Walmart is a large
percentage of our business. In other words they say jump
and we ask how high.
