Is this movie any funnier than Best in Show? They share a lot of the same cast no?
I rented Best in Show over the weekend because some here recommeneded it and it sucked. The only funny part was the suicide squad guy talking his son down.

I think Guffman is worlds better than Best in Show. Guffman is a lot subtler humor, more like a documentary. Best in Show was made to be more of a big screen release and lost some of its subtleties. The cast is the same but everyone has dramatically different roles. I've seen Guffman easily 400 times.
I can start reciting it here if you want me to...

Yes, it is much funnier. It's one of the few movies I missed a lot of in the theatre because I was laughing so hard. If you do a search here I believe this was discussed in a thread started by shelfie, I believe.
DO NOT SEE "A Mighty Wind" - that blew. Pun intended.
Didn't you find Fred Willard funny, though?

I liked "A Mighty Wind" better than Best in Show, I had some laughs. None like Guffman or Spinal Tap though.

Everything that Pffff said. Guffman's much better than BIS. Not quite up to Spinal Tap, which was funny throughout. Guffman is subtler in presentation, like Cheryl said.

Really? I was genuinely pissed at how much I disliked it. I think the only bit that made me laugh was Eugene Levy's voice.

I didn't like Mighty Wind (Eugene Levy's voice irritated me to no end), but I really liked Best in Show. With gems like: "Brockworst and shillelaghs, paging Dr. Freud" or "She looks like a cocktail waitress on an oil rig. Look at the piping! Look at the piping!" how could you not laugh?

I think it was much better than Waiting for Guffman. A mighty wind was not good at all, we were sad because we were hoping it was good.
Oh my gosh people......Best in Show rocked!!!!!!!!!!! It still cracks us up (ok we own the DVD). The characters are just so fubby....the yuppies with the weimeriener are the best....."GET BIZZYBEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Come on, they are hilarious! And the gay couple, and the winning dog couple skank wife....so funny.
I'm shocked and in awe you guys didn't like it!!!!

I KNOW! When Harlan Pepper starts reciting his nuts, too funny. "Macademia nut. That one really sent momma over the edge!"

Yeeeaaahhhh, Harlan Pepper was pretty fub...It was funny I just don't think it compares to Guffman. As for Mighty Wind, maybe I was on crack when I saw it, I've only seen it once but I laughed.
