Since Pete and the boys had so many hits- instead of picking a song list thought I would throw out some albums to vote on.
1) Tommy- all your favorites in the first Rock Opera
Pinball Wizard, I'm Free, Acid Queen, Uncle Ernie
2) Quadrophenia- hey Sting was in the movie
Love Reign O'er Me, The Real Me, 5:15, Bell Boy
3) Who's Next- would have been Pete's third Rock Opera (Lifehouse)
if he didn't have a nervous breakdown
Won't Get Fooled Again, Baba O'Reilly (Teenage Wasteland )
Going Mobile, Behind Blue Eyes
4) Live at Leeds- wonderfully raw and loud outdoor concert
"but these go to 11"
Summertime Blues, Young Man Blues
5) Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy- put it on here cause of the fun name
Magic Bus, I Can't Explain, Boris the Spider
6) Who Are You- Moonie's last album
Who Are You, Had Enough, Sister Disco

The Xers can't relate to The Who. Better find a mullet-friendly band for them.

Figured with all the CSI spinoff- enough people might be familar with them. You know like how the Paul McCartney guy used to be in a band called the Wings.

2) Quadrophenia- hey Sting was in the movie
Love Reign O'er Me, The Real Me, 5:15, Bell Boy
3) Who's Next- would have been Pete's third Rock Opera (Lifehouse)
if he didn't have a nervous breakdown
Won't Get Fooled Again, Baba O'Reilly (Teenage Wasteland )
Going Mobile, Behind Blue Eyes
4) Live at Leeds- wonderfully raw and loud outdoor concert
"but these go to 11"
Summertime Blues, Young Man Blues
5) Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy- put it on here cause of the fun name
Magic Bus, I Can't Explain, Boris the Spider
6) Who Are You- Moonie's last album
Who Are You, Had Enough, Sister Disco |
All of 'em. And you forgot The Kids Are Alright. I think The Who just might be the greatest band of all time.

Yeah-could have added about 10 more albums but I thought I would highlight some of the better ones

True. Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy was the first album I ever owned. Still have it on Vinyl. I remember when it first came out on CD, I ran out (actually clicked on Amazon) to get it. It was as great as I remembered. My older brother used to play The Kids Are Alright all of the time, and that is what got me hooked on The Who.
I saw the 1989 Tommy tour at Giant Stadium. I got the tickets the day of the Show, called my brothers who both cut out of work early. Great show!

Pebbles and I went to the Pittsburgh show of that same tour.
14th row at Three Rivers Stadium -- what a terrific show.
First album I got was Kids Are Alright in High School-
then in college went on a used record buying fest
have somewhere around 22 Who Albums- bootlegs and European versions included

Speaking of which, Live at Leeds has to be one of the best live albums, ever.
