I just got my official letter from the graduate registrar today...I am DEFINITELY graduating in December and will have my Master's Degree in hand by January 3. WOO FREAKIN HOO BABY!!!!! 
What's even cooler is.....I got my first student to train!!! She's a counseling major from community college, where my boss teaches, and he asked me if I would take her for the semester! Being a huge fan of education, I of course agreed and now I'm looking into being certified in clinical supervision so I can do them every semester. I LOVE THIS!!! I also got a student nurse who's doing her psych rotation at our place, she's done next week and was a great asset to our group. This is so much fun, I absolutely LOVE my job....when did you EVER hear me say that at Merck?
I was just telling a friend today....I really am finally getting to do what I have wanted to do for years, and I actually feel like "somebody" now. People actually ask ME my opinion about what to do with their patients and our newest therapist told my boss the other day how much help I've been to her since she's never done D&A before and she's in my office almost daily asking questions.
I may be starting an additional part time gig in January doing groups and possibly individual work fee for service (which means more $) at an outpatient facility here in town that my friend Wanda is working at. I'm also trying to talk my boss into getting me in with the department chair at community college so I can teach one class a semester. I might wait til summer for that, since my intern's teacher really likes me and that's another good word to get me in.
Life is indeed good.....it feels SO good to be doing what I really really enjoy and I haven't regretted one day of walking away from corporate, not even on payday.  Thanks for letting me share.....

 Ooooh I think I need to ask PH to make that my new label!
Po Po, this is just the Master's degree. I'm taking a couple years off to unfry my brains before I go back for full doctor status but I still think I want to do it. But yes, I can do individual work for an agency or private practice if I don't want to take insurances, since I am not yet licensed and probably won't be because I took the shorter internship so I could get out faster. Besides, I'd need to get relicensed at the doctor level anyway so it didn't make sense to do it twice.
I am just sooo relieved to eventually be able to have my nights back! Maybe I'll actually find time to start running again too.
