Does this really surprise anyone?
who will get picked first?.....Reggie Bush or Vince Young?
press conference to come later this afternoon....

The University of Texas said Vince Young has made his decision about whether he will finish his senior season or apply for the 2006 NFL draft.
University of Texas Sports Information Director John Bianco confirmed that Young has made his decision.
That much-anticipated decision will be announced at a press conference at 3 p.m. at the Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletic Center.
WFAA in Dallas reports Young’s godmother said he conferred with his family and his pastor, and is on his way to Austin to speak with head coach Mack Brown before announcing his decision to the public.

I thought he said last week that he was staying.
Well, perhaps it is for the best for him. Who am I to judge. That opportunity never revealed it self to me.
Best of luck to Vince.

1st off, he'll never be higher on the hype scale than he is right now, after his performance in the Rose Bowl. He got his national title now, too, so another reason coming back would be silly.
Sounds like Houston will take Reggie Bush. I still think they'd be much better trading down to help out the O line. Carr is a good qb and they have plenty of RBs.
I must be the only person I know who thinks Young won't necessarily be an NFL bust, but won't come CLOSE to living up to his draft spot or all the hype. He may wind up better than Vick, but Vick isn't a quarterback.

If Young wants to be a bonafide NFL qb he needs to work on his passing skills and his ability to make a read and get rid of the ball in a hurry. He's not going to get the kind of time USC's defense allowed him when he hits the NFL. And when he does decide to tuck and run, NFL linebackers aren't going to bounce off him like USC's did. He'll pay the same price other qb's who rely too much on their running skills have paid.

Vick and Young would both make spectacular NFL wide receivers. Leave the qb position to more accurate passers and quick decision makers. NFL qb's who run just take too much abuse - it's been proven time and again.

I was thinking he should stay and move to WR. Talk about more "hype" if he proved to be as good as we think. He's just not big enough to bank on running ability.

I don't blame him at all. He won the national title, and will never have a chance to do what he did in that game, again.
His stock was too high...he'll be a top 3 pick for sure.
All the Big 12 coaches are happy about this.
He might end up in New Orleans. Or Tennessee.

I agree on all points, actually. I only want Vince Young here so I can continue to cheer for him, but he needs to go to a place where he won't be killed before the age of 25 (like David Carr is headed for). Our offensive line is...offensive (ie, so bad its ugly). Its to the point now that I'm almost sure David Carr did something to piss them all off. Can they really be that bad? seriously.
